Yeah. So I seem completely unable to make any headway in the game. I am losing money faster than I earn it, and the only thing that is an income is mining, which is not interesting. I know it’s only a game, and only Internet spaceships, but right now it feels like its a systematic failing in me, and a systematic failure by me. Y’know, I’d like some success in some sphere, even a virtual one.
And this is where joining a corporation helps.
By joining a corp you get
1. Advice
2. Help
3. Access to areas before you can access them yourself.
For example, you can only run Level 1 missions with you character. By joining a corp in high sec space you will have corp mates that are capable of running Level 4 missions. By asking nicely you will find that a majority will not object to you joining them in the mission in a salvage boat ( salvage destroyer to start, then a Noctis when you have the cash). You can pull between 5-10 mill in salvage from the average lvl 4, more if the guy running the mission doesn’t care about the loot ( and a lot don’t). Additionally, you get a bump to your standings to the NPC corp you are running the mission for, allowing you access to the higher missions in less time.
This allows you to then work toward getting better ships/skills while not bleeding isk.
Solo Eve is harder then it looks.
I think I am just going to quit though. I don’t have the time to play games any more, and it feels like I am too stupid to learn this one.
Or you can just spend $19.95 on a PLEX and sell it in Jita (redeem it in Jita, on NO account attempt to fly it there) and sell it for 550 – 600 mill. That will get you set up for a while.
Eve. A monstrous time sink it is.
